The Foz do Iguacu bus terminal is located 6 km from the downtown area and situated at the entrance to the city on Avenida Costa e Silva. How to get from the Foz do Iguaçu terminal to the downtown area
Local Bus
There are buses to the city center every 15 minutes, look for the buses which say TTU which will take you downtown and terminate at the domestic terminal called Terminal Transporte Urbano. The trip takes 30 minutes, but if you are looking for a Hostel downtown you can find a few close to the Macdonald's on Avenida Jorge Schimmelpfeng and you can get off there after 20 minutes traveling. Taxi
Outside the terminal, you will find a taxi rank and all taxis are metered. The trip downtown takes about 15 minutes and costs about R$20 Brazilian Reals. Taxis are permitted to take up to 4 passengers
How to get from the Foz do Iguaçu bus terminal to the Brazil side of the Falls
Follow the instructions above for the bus to the Terminal Transporte Urbano (TTU) and then switch buses for one numbered 120 which is signed as Parque Nacional/Aeroporto. If you are just changing buses at the TTU terminal you do not have to pay the fare again for your next bus. The trip from there takes 40 minutes and the National Park is the last stop.
How to get from the Foz do Iguaçu bus terminal to Puerto Iguazu (Argentina)
Follow the directions above for getting to the TTU downtown terminal and then exit to the terminal and just outside you can catch the local International bus which is signed: Puerto Iguazu Argentina.
Once on the bus remind the drivers you need to get off at the Brazilian border to stamp out of Brazil otherwise they might not stop. The bus will not wait for you, but the driver will give you a ticket to catch the next bus. Important to note that there are two companies who do this route and the ticket they give you is only valid for the same company so note the name on the bus you just got off.
The average waiting time for the next bus is 40 minutes, and you need to get off again to do the Argentine border procedures. This time the bus will wait a few minutes for you if there are no queues at immigration, and then continue to the Puerto Iguazu bus terminal.
How to get from the Foz do Iguaçu bus terminal to Ciudad del Este in Paraguay
You can also take a direct bus from the Foz terminal to Paraguay. It departs every 40 minutes and takes around 30 minutes if there is no traffic at the border. Just look for the bus which says Ciudad del Este.
